Are healers useless or a hidden gem??

If you talk to most people in global chat, most of them won't be able to tell you the last time they tried using healers in their regular army compostion. Let alone that they are actually a good troop in the game; unless you are doing queen walks. So I have decided to pose the question: are healers a useless troop or are they a hidden gem in the game that we aren't taking advantage of?

With the addition of the clone spell, the miner, the baby dragon, the skeleton spell, and the older but still recent bowler. It leaves a lot of new army compositions and options for healers. The question is: is the healer really worth the 14 space when you can bring 2 bowlers and a minion. Or a valk and a bowler instead? For that to be true you would have to place the healer well out of the way of defenses because otherwise she would be down and out before she had the chance to be worth her spot in the army composition. So if you are going to try using a healer make sure you throw it as far back from air defenses as possible so that you get the full use out of it.

One thing I haven't tried yet is a composition where I clone the healer in order to make my troops survive longer. Normally I would just bring a heal spell instead but I definitely want to bring a healer and a clone spell and see how comparable the healing is. One important thing for healers is try and make sure that your healer locks onto some of your bigger units eg: a pekka, your heroes, or even a golem or valk. If your healer locks onto smaller units they may be dead in one shot or two regardless of your healers efforts, making your healer useless. Let me know in the comments below if you guys have found a good use for the healer!👊
